Around 2019, Dimella Shaffer identified Science & Technology as one of its five strategic growth sectors. Working closely with a Project Manager and Principal, as Project Architect, I helped with this effort. Starting with a targeted core-and-shell upgrade paired with a 20,000‑sf tenant fit‑up. That early project served as a catalyst, establishing both the design standards and client relationships that would shape the sector’s future work. Since that initial engagement, the Science & Technology sector has expanded dramatically, delivering more than 3.1 million square feet of specialized environments. These projects range from compact 5,000‑sf research suites to complex 500,000‑sf facilities, reflecting the sector’s evolution into a major contributor to the firm’s portfolio and reputation.
